It's Book Fair Week

Today, we visited the book fair.  We each got to look at around and find 5 books that we would like to have.  A teacher helped us write them down.  We are going to show them to our parents and tell them about book fair.  We were told that some of our parents are going to circle one or more of the books on the list and send it back in with some money.  If we bring in money by Thursday, then we will get to go shopping during the school day!

Storm Warning!

This morning a severe thunderstorm warning was issued right before school.  The school staff and administration worked together to keep the kids as safe as possible.  Mr. Memmer stood out in the wind and directed the students to the door.  I was waiting at the door to instruct the students to find a seat in the hallway with their backs against the wall.  After the tardy bell rang, we had the children go to their class's spot in the hall.  The teachers gathered some books, paper and crayons and distributed them to their students. The children were great at keeping their voices low enough that the teachers could communicate information.  We were finally able to go back to class at 8:30.

Some of the other teachers said, "Only Mrs. Sights would be taking a picture at a time like this."
Response from Mrs. Sights, "Of course, I have to blog about this!"

BTW: Mrs. Mitchell took some pictures too!
