Help is needed for Field Day

The field day committee is in need of a few more parents to help with the games on field day. If you are available to help out, please contact the school office or let me know and I will pass along the information. Remember, in order to help out you have to have gone through the Safe Environment Training.

No Post on Monday

I am telling you this in advance. There will be no new post on Monday, May 17. I will not be in the classroom on Monday. Mr. Smelser will be teaching that day. I will be testing next year's Kindergarten students.

New Center

We are working on our numbers and number patterns from 1 to 100. Today, I brought out a new center. The students take all of the numbers off of the hundreds chart, mix them up, and then put them back up in the right order. They had a lot of fun with this.

First Grade Behavior

Lately, I have been telling the children that they are almost 1st graders, so they need to start acting like 1st graders. Well, I was pleasantly surprised this morning when the children came into the room took care of their backpacks and folders, then formed a very nice, quiet line and waited patiently to move their name on the lunch graph.
Ten more days of Kindergarten!

Kindness Awards

Today in Social Studies, we talked about different ways we can be kind to one another and ways people have been kind to us. Then we made Kindness Awards. Your child will bring this award home and should give it to someone that has been kind to them.
