Observing Nature

Today in science, we went outside for class. We observed nature and recorded what we saw. Your child should have brought home a pencil sketch of what they observed.

Ramona

One of my favorite story book characters is Ramona Quimby. I have been reading Ramona the Pest by Beverly Cleary to this class. Today I realized that this one classroom, at times, seems like it is full of Ramona Quimbys! This is going to be an interesting year!!

Fr. Burn's Birthday

Today, we surprised Fr. Burns with a birthday party. We sang "Happy Birthday" to him and then ate some birthday cake!

Our First Science Class

Yesterday afternoon was our first science class with Mrs. Mitchell and the 1st grade. We learned what science is, listed somethings that we would like to study this year, and looked at some BIG science books!

Mandatory Parent Meeting

After Mr. Memmer and PTA speak to everyone, you will go to your child's classroom and have a brief meeting with your child's teacher.

Changes in the Cafeteria

Today, we practiced going to our new lunch table. We are switching lunch tables with the 3rd grade. We also practiced the lunch time rules.

Share Time

Today was our first Share Time. We all sat in a circle, then one person at a time went to the middle. Some children shared stories, some danced for us, and one sang us a song. We all had a good time. What a talented group of children!
