Wash Your Hands!

Today, we had a visitor that taught us proper hand washing techniques.  She put some white powder on our hands and we looked at our hands under a special light. Boy, did the look dirty.  Then we washed our hands with soap and water, came back in the room and looked at our hands again under the special light.  Some of us did a great job!  A few had to go back and try again.

VISITORS IN OUR CLASSROOM

Starting this week, we will have some visitors in our classroom.  On Tuesday mornings, Stephanie Bolen will help out in the kindergarten room. She is a sophomore at USI.  On Wednesday mornings, another USI student, Michael Okray, will be helping us learn.  Each USI student will visit once a week for six weeks.

Zoo Field Trip

It was kind of a crazy field trip day.  Our bus did not show up on time.  So we arrived at the zoo about 30 minutes later than we had planned.  The kindergarten class was determined to see the whole zoo though.  We covered the ENTIRE zoo in about an hour and a half.  By the time we finished, we were all tired and hungry.  We climbed back on the bus and went to Kid's Kingdom.  There we ate a picnic lunch and then we played on the playground.  Around 1:00, we headed back to school.

I could not have done it without the wonderful helpers.
Thank you so much for all of your help.

Even the rhino turned his head to be in the picture!

Taking a short break.

Another quick break for a group picture.

Field Trip - coming soon!

Don't forget that our field trip to Mesker Park Zoo is this Wednesday.  Some of you have not turned in your permission slip and money.  Without a signed permission slip and the entrance fee, your child will NOT get to go on the field trip.

Please remember:
- Dress your child for the weather.  We will be outside most of the day.
- Send your child in comfortable walking shoes. We will be walking the entire zoo.
- Pack a non-perishable sack lunch.  Do not put your child's drink in the sack. We will have a cooler for drinks only.
- Mark both the lunch and the drink with your child's name in permanent marker.
